PA Fishing Report 7/25/2020

Stream:  Pohopoco Creek (Lehighton, PA)

What to Expect: Pohopoco is clear and cold! Lots of wild Browns being caught as well as plenty of fingerling and adult Rainbows.

Stream Flow: 97 CFS – Median is 91 CFS

Water Temp:  Mid/High 50’s

Clarity: Clear

General Overview:  Traditional and tightline nymphing techniques have been working very well. Streamers too!

Best Advice: Fishing a single nymph on the edges/banks has been productive. Jig/strip small dark-colored streamers in the deeper riffles, runs, and pools

Stream:  Bushkill Creek (Easton, PA)

What to Expect: Bushkill is low and clear. After the recent fish kill there seems to still be fairly decent numbers of Browns and Rainbows throughout the stream. Trout have been holding in the deeper riffles and pools.

Stream Flow: 84 CFS – Median is 117 CFS

Water Temp: Low/Mid 60’s

Clarity: Clear

General Overview:  Dry dropper has been especially effective in the recent weeks

Best Advice: Start fishing from 6am to around 11am. Fishing has been best between these times. Stop fishing as water temps climb in the afternoon.
