Fly Fishing With American Standard

The Best Guided Fly Fishing in Pennsylvania and North Carolina

As our name implies, at American Standard Fly Fishing Guides, our goal is to be the benchmark by which all other guides are measured. All of our guides are highly experienced and talented anglers. But just as importantly, they are passionate about fly fishing and love sharing what they know with others. We aim to provide more than a single day of catching fish. We want all clients to learn what they need to be more effective anglers. We also believe learning should be fun! The more fun you have on your outing, the more likely you are to fish on your own and give yourself a chance to implement what you’ve learned.

Why Should You Book An Outing With Us?

There’s nothing like going back to nature to relax, and our fly fishing trips offer this to you. Our locations include areas around Pennsylvania, including Allentown, Scranton, Altoona, State College, Pittsburgh, the Pocono Mountains and other locations. We also guide in the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina. We can take one to two anglers on a regular trip, or we can accommodate three or more at your request. You will mainly find brown trout, rainbow trout and brook trout at the scenic destinations we’ll take you to on your guided tours. You can schedule half-day trips or full-day trips, which will be four or eight hours long. Our trip rates are based on one or two anglers participating.

We need to have confidence that tour participants will show up since we invest our time and planning, so a $100 non-refundable deposit is required upon booking. Any remaining balance will be due on the day of your trip. Also, weather-related cancellations will be at the sole discretion of the guide.

At American Standard, we like to believe we set the standard when it comes to guided fly fishing trips in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. With this in mind, we provide you with rods, reels, flies, fly lines, tippets and leaders as well as snacks. We can provide you with waders and wading boots if you request them at no additional charge. Full day trips also include lunch. You’ll bring your own sunscreen, sunglasses, rain jacket (if needed), hat, camera and a Pennsylvania or North Carolina fishing licence with a trout stamp.
